A few days ago I sent out a tweet stating that "People talk to people".  I thought that it was a pretty simple, yet clear thought, unlike a number of my twitter followers who responded with a "ha?"  It is one of those times where I probably am saying more than it first appears.

I've talked about it before, it is really one of my pet peeves.  I see Social Media profiles where brands are really spamming their followers.  Seldom do I find people who enjoy this experience.  It is my feeling that Social Media is most effective when you are able to engage your customers and prospects.  People don't want to talk to a brand but they want to be able to connect with the people working behind the brand.

In what ways do you make use of Social Media to connect your customers to your employees?  I bet your customers don't make requests to connect with your marketing department.
