I want YOU to help me build a new Social Business

Over the past couple of days, I've announced some minor changes to what I'm doing.  Based on my areas of expertise, I've started a new business called Social Biz Guy.  After working for one of the worlds largest companies I have become a tadpole in the ocean.

I've taken a good look at what I can offer the world based on my skills and experience.  I'm wanting to bring diversity together to help inspire my customers to leverage modern forms of collaboration to their benefit.

Being a Social Business is all about being transparent, engaged and nimble.  This is where I need your help so that I can help people like you.  I'm taking a risk and I'm going to put my mouth where my money is, so to speak.  I want YOU to tell ME what YOU would want if you were my customer.

To provide you with a bit of guidance, here is my dream.  I want to go around the world as a performance presenter on topics relating to Social Business.  The idea is that I wouldn't just be doing presentations, but that I would be doing performances which would make people laugh while inspiring them to try something new to help their business.

I would like to bring my life's experiences together to provide people with the best of me.  Here is a list of what I am good at:
  • Public Speaking
  • Playing musical instruments - particularly good on the trumpet.
  • I've run businesses
  • Worked with the poor and needy in Africa
  • Involved with Social Media tools from before it was ever called Social Media
  • Sold solutions to small companies through to banks, insurance companies, government etc
The thing that I don't want to do, is be the same as anyone else.  I want to be unique while being relevant.  Hence, I'm asking for your help.  It's a blank canvas right now, I invite you to leave some comments and be a part of what is going to be an incredible journey.


  1. I think the tricky thing about social media is that a lot of the people doing it are operating on a very limited budget. The biggest expense for most people is time. The time that it takes to maintain a strong social presence is very costly. If you were able to come up with ways to help people promote their business more effectively using less time, that is a service that is worth paying for. The difficulty is that often people don't quantify that time, and what it is costing them.

    I'm not sure if that is helpful, but I hope there's something useful there for you.

    1. @Kykuhl That's exactly the kind of feed back that I need. I bet there are a lot of people out there who see Social Media as a time waster. I guess that one of the important things is that people know what they need to spend there time on and how to identify the return for their efforts. Would you think that Return on Investment is important?
